Coronavirus forces 76ers, Devils to reduce employee salaries

The 76ers and Devils will be imposing short-term income reductions commencing on April 15, in accordance to the New York Times’ Marc Stein

The wage reductions will not impression all personnel, and the shift is “aimed at steering clear of layoffs,” per Stein. Salaried personnel building more than $50,000 will receive wage reductions of up to 20%. 

Agreement employees—including players and coaches—are being questioned to participate in the wage reductions, while can not be compelled to. 

“To make sure we can carry on to help and operate our organizations all through these uncertain instances devoid of minimizing our workforce, we are inquiring our full-time, salaried staff to temporarily lower their spend by up to 20 %,” Harris Blitzer Sports & Leisure CEO Scott O’Neil mentioned in a statement, for each Stein. “We are fully commited to actively playing an ongoing function in funding initiatives to assist the most impacted citizens in our property cities.”
